The Expert Edge: UFC Fight Night 142

(SPONSORED CONTENT) -- It’s once again that time for the madness that is Ultimate Fighting to descend on our humble nation, with the upcoming UFC Fight Night 142 schedule to rock Adelaide Entertainment Centre from its very foundations. The evening will showcase some of the meanest talent in the game from across the world, climaxing in the main card clash between heavyweight mainstays Junior ‘Cigano’ Dos Santos and Tai ‘Bam Bam’ Tuivasa.

Our man in the know, UFC Veteran Richie Vas has crunched the numbers to give you the expert edge on your punt, and here’s his breakdown of 142.

Ahead of the main bout, we’ll bare witness to a total war between Lightweights Tyson Pedro and Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua. This is a black and white battle between the old school staying power of Shogun versus the new school finesse of Pedro. Alas, Shogun represents the old guard, with Richie predicting he will fall in the third round to the unstoppable power of a younger alpha male. Nature always wins.

In a similar situation of an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object, young gun Justin ‘Big Pretty’ Willis will square off against war-horse and posterboy of UFC in the southern hemisphere Mark ‘Super Samoan’ Hunt. Big Pretty is tough, but as Richie calls it, not as tough as Hunt who has a nasty habit of walking through his opponents, and leaving them on their backs by round 2. 142 will most likely be more of the same.

The main card of the evening will pit a former champ against a threatening rising star. Even without the expert edge, it’s clear this one will end in a brutal exchange of heavy blows and a fair amount of blood loss for all involved. That said, Vas sees this one going the distance, with both fighters too tough to fall down. Vas tags this one as going to Bam Bam via decision.

UFC Fight Night Adelaide is sure to be an evening of brutal excitement, now armed with the expert edge, you can be sure to get the most out of it.
