Ortega, 31, has recorded seven victories across his past nine outings. The former Resurrection Fighting Alliance champion last competed at UFC 266, where he dropped a five-round unanimous decision to reigning featherweight titleholder Alexander Volkanovski on Sept. 25. Ortega has delivered 10 of his 15 career wins by knockout, technical knockout or submission.

Rodriguez, meanwhile, also finds himself on the rebound. “The Ultimate Fighter Latin America” winner last appeared on Nov. 13, when Max Holloway outpointed him to a unanimous decision atop UFC Fight Night 197. Rodriguez owns a stellar 8-2 record inside the Octagon.

UFC on ABC 3 also features a welterweight clash slotting Muslim Salikhov (-165) opposite Jingliang Li (+135), a flyweight tilt matching Su Mudaerji (-300) with Matt Schnell (+220), a featherweight scrap pitting Shane Burgos (-175) against Charles Jourdain (+145) and a women’s flyweight affair pairing Miesha Tate (-210) with Lauren Murphy (+165). Middleweights highlight the six-fight undercard, as Punahele Soriano (-240) faces Dalcha Lungiambula (+190).
