Teixeira has rattled off six wins across his past seven appearances. He last competed at UFC 275, where he submitted to a fifth-round rear-naked choke from Jiri Prochazka and surrendered the undisputed light heavyweight championship on June 12. One of the game’s most prolific finishers, the 43-year-old Teixeira has secured 28 of his 33 career victories by knockout, technical knockout or submission.
Hill, 31, owns a 5-1 mark with one no contest through seven assignments inside the Octagon. The Chicago native last fought at UFC on ESPN 40, where he put away Thiago Santos with punches and elbows in the fourth round of their Aug. 6 main event. It extended Hill’s winning streak to three fights.
UFC 283 “Teixeira vs. Hill” also features a welterweight clash matching Gilbert Burns (-475) with Neil Magny (+350), a women’s flyweight tilt pitting Jessica Andrade (-475) against Lauren Murphy (+350) and a light heavyweight affair pairing Johnny Walker (-200) with Paul Craig (+160). Light heavyweights anchor the 10-fight undercard, where Ihor Potieria (-200) collides with the retiring Mauricio Rua (+175) at 205 pounds.
