Fury is coming off a controversial split decision draw against WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. Their title fight took place in Los Angeles in December, where many felt that the Briton had done enough to earn the decision despite getting knocked down twice. An immediate rematch was expected, but Fury has since signed a lucrative deal with ESPN and will look to continue building up his profile in the United States.
The “Gypsy King” can’t underestimate his opponent in Schwarz, though, especially after Anthony Joshua’s recent defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr. The unbeaten German is not well-known, but that could change with a single punch. Schwarz boasts five knockouts in his last six wins.
The event’s prelims will be broadcast on ESPN2 starting at 7:00 p.m. ET. The main card airs exclusively on ESPN+ and will start at 10:00 p.m. ET. The main event is expected to start at approximately 11:00 p.m. ET.
