The Legacy Fighting Alliance will stage its 16 event in Brazil with LFA 183 on Friday at Complexo Ribalta in Rio de Janeiro. Top prospects Naizi Cantanhede and Yasmin Guimaraes square off in a pivotal women’s strawweight showdown atop the bill.

Cantanhede, undefeated at 7-0, has been on a tear, most notably handing Edilania da Silva the first loss of her career at LFA 175. She defied all odds to topple Silva, earning a split decision in their Jan. 27 encounter. Meanwhile, Guimares is revered for her muay thai skills, having competed in mixed martial arts and “the art of eight limbs” throughout Europe and the Middle East. She has also challenged for the WBC muay thai super-bantamweight title, which only goes to prove her proficiency in the striking department.
