How to Watch DWCS 2023, Week 6
Ben DuffySep 12, 2023
If you happen to tune in to Dana White's Contender Series this week and get a twinge of déjà vu, don’t touch that dial: You haven’t stumbled upon a rerun of a previous episode, but a new episode stacked with fighters filming reboots.
The five matchups scheduled to take place at DWCS 2023, Week 6 feature three of the deepest and most competitive divisions in the sport—men’s bantamweight, featherweight and lightweight—as well as women’s strawweight and heavyweight, which is always starving for new talent. However, the most interesting quirk of Tuesday’s card is that aside from the curtain-jerker between undefeated bantamweights Jean Matsumoto and Kasey Tanner, every bout features a fighter who has already competed—and lost—on the Contender Series. Only time will tell whether Julia Polastri, Steven Nguyen, Eduardo Jose Neves and Malik Lewis will fare better this time around, but at the very least, they shouldn’t have much trouble finding the UFC Apex.
DWCS 2023, Week 6 takes place on Tuesday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and streams live to ESPN+ at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
