In the main event, Matt Mitrione will rematch Sergei Kharitonov. The two fought back in February but it ended in just 15 seconds due to a no-contest from a groin strike. That was each fighters’ last fight, but before that “Meathead” lost to Ryan Bader while the Russian knocked out Roy Nelson.
The co-main event sees another heavyweight class as Vitaly Minakov looks to rebound from his first professional loss when he takes on Javy Ayala. Bellator 225 also features notable names such as David Rickels vs. Yaroslav Amosov, Khonry Gracie, Austin Vanderford, Timothy Johnson and Nick Newell among others.
Bellator 225 prelims airs on the Bellator app and Bellator.com at 5:45 p.m. ET. The main card airs live at 9 p.m. ET on Paramount Network from the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The entire card will also stream on Dazn.
