TOTAL NUMBER OF UFC FIGHTS: 7,930
TOTAL NUMBER OF UFC EVENTS: 712

The Ultimate Fighting Championship exceeded meager expectations of its 100th numbered show at company headquarters of the UFC Apex. Low on divisional relevance, the competitors—many with losing streaks coming into the card—performed admirably and entertained the masses. UFC Vegas 100 featured a fearsome bruiser snatching one more check, a grizzled grappler who ran into someone better and a number of quick and merciless finishes.

Gull: UFC Fight Night 247, also known as UFC Vegas 100, was not the 100th show helmed at the UFC Apex, with seven previous pay-per-views in 2020 and 2021 also in this building. It does correctly correspond to the 100 non-PPV cards taking place at the Apex, while not counting the one Vegas-based Fight Night at the Theater at Virgin Hotels in 2023.

Gheed’s Fortune: All but one of the betting favorites prevailed at this event, with the lone upset coming from +200 Gaston Bolanos over -240 Cortavious Romious. Nine of the 11 bouts saw one competitor favored with a line above -200, providing on average far wider lines than a typical UFC card.

The Minotaur: Carlos Prates dusted Neil Magny with one punch to establish himself at 170 pounds. “The Nightmare” has knocked out his last 10 foes while pushing his win streak to 11, including all four appearances in the Octagon.

Soul Drainer: Prates elevated his finish rate to 90% by decking Magny. Over three-quarters of the wins for the Fighting Nerds export have come by knockout.

Skull Collector: Introducing himself to the organization in February, Prates came back against Trevin Giles to put him out in Round 2. All four of his victories—knockouts within two rounds—have been accompanied by “Performance of the Night” bonus checks.

Metalgrid: Albeit in an unsuccessful effort, Magny made his 34th walk to the cage as a welterweight on Saturday. He puts further space between the pack, with Tim Means’ 26 bouts at the weight the next closest active competitor.

Executioner’s Justice: Reinier de Ridder outlasted Gerald Meerschaert and landed a third-round arm-triangle choke. The Dutchman boosted his pro finish rate to 89%, with two-thirds of them coming via submission.

String of Ears: While Meerschaert has been submitted nine times as a pro to date, “RDR” is the first to tap him out since Jack Hermansson hit a guillotine choke on Meerschaert in 2018. Between those two submission defeats, “GM3” had pulled off eight subs on his winning ledger.

Widowmaker: Former muay thai fighter Bolanos started his career off with his first six victories all by knockout. Since coming to the UFC in 2023, Bolanos’ only two wins—including a decision over Romious—have needed to involve the judges.

Silks of the Victor: Taking home a decision against Luana Pinheiro, former flyweight Gillian Robertson earned her 12th win as a member of the UFC roster. She ties Angela Hill for the fifth-most victories among all female fighters to enter the Octagon. Jessica Andrade’s 17 stand above the rest.

Ribcracker: Demolishing Dusko Todorovic with a knee and follow-up punches, Mansur Abdul-Malik made his successful promotional debut. The Maryland native has seen all seven of his wins come inside the distance, while never competing beyond the 8:55 mark as a pro.

Rite of Passage: Former strawweight title challenger Karolina Kowalkiewicz fell short on the scorecards to Denise Gomes. The Polish woman has heard the final bell in five straight outings, with decisions accounting for 18, or 72%, of her professional fights.

Stone Crusher: In 75 seconds, Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos laid waste to the debuting Zach Scroggin. The Brazilian notched his first knockout since 2018, while performing his 15th knockout since making his pro debut in 2009.

Blackshear’s Sharp: Da'Mon Blackshear put Cody Stamann away with a rear-naked choke in the opening frame. “Da Monster” has procured 80% of his wins via stoppage, with two-thirds of them by submission.

Gore Rider: Returning from a layoff of over two years, Tresean Gore hit a guillotine choke on Antonio Trocoli in 83 seconds. Still early in his pro career, Mr. Vicious has earned four of his five wins by finish.

Never Say Never Again: Coming into UFC Fight Night 247, Scroggin had never been defeated (seven fights), Trocoli had never been submitted (17 fights) and Klaudia Sygula had never been knocked out (seven fights).

Thunderstroke: Todorovic made his way to the cage accompanied by AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” only to get knocked out in the first round by Abdul-Malik. More fighters have lost after selecting “Thunderstruck” than any other tune in recorded UFC history.

Nature’s Peace: For her first 12 UFC appearances, Kowalkiewicz walked out to Iggy Pop’s “The Passenger,” only to change it up to “TNT” by AC/DC in 2022. After five uses of the Aussie rockers, the ex-title challenger went back to “The Passenger” and came up short to Gomes.
