Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Justino: By the Numbers

Recognized by many as the most dangerous woman on the planet, Cris Cyborg has been an unstoppable force in mixed martial arts for more than a decade.

“Cyborg” will defend her Ultimate Fighting Championship women’s featherweight title against former Invicta Fighting Championships titleholder Yana Kunitskaya in the UFC 222 main event this Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Justino carries with her a 20-fight unbeaten streak during which she has gone 19-0 with one no-contest.

Ahead of Justino’s latest title defense, here are some of the numbers that have come to define her:

0: Submission victories to her credit. All 16 of Justino’s finishes have come via knockout or technical knockout.

1: Defeat on her resume. Justino’s sole MMA loss came in her pro debut in 2005, when Erica Paes submitted her with a first-round kneebar in a fight held in Curitiba, Brazil.

1: Successful UFC title defense. “Cyborg” captured the vacant women’s featherweight championship at UFC 214 on July 29, as she stopped Tonya Evinger with knee strikes in the third round. Justino successfully defended the 145-pound crown five months later with a unanimous decision over Holly Holm at UFC 219.

1: “Fight of the Night” award earned. Justino’s picked up her only post-fight performance bonus in the UFC in her five-round battle with Holm in December.

3: Successful Invicta title defenses. “Cyborg” laid claim to the inaugural Invicta Fighting Championships featherweight belt with a fourth-round technical knockout of Marloes Coenen on July 13, 2013 and went on to retain it on three occasions, defeating Charmaine Tweet, Faith Van Duin and Daria Ibragimova in succession before moving to the UFC.

3: MMA championships won. Justino has gotten her hands on titles in Strikeforce, Invicta and the UFC.

4: UFC victories in the bank. “Cyborg” made her long-awaited Octagon debut at UFC 198 in 2016 and has gone 4-0 thus far.
