The Boston native was in complete control in the UFC Fight Night 188 headliner, as he cruised to a unanimous decision triumph against ex-champ Cody Garbrandt at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday night. Thanks to his most high-profile victory to date, Font finds himself smack dab in the middle of the 135-pound title picture.

Here is a by-the-numbers look at UFC Fight Night 188, with statistics courtesy of UFCStats.com.

113: Significant strikes by which Font outlanded Garbrandt, the second-largest significant strike differential in a UFC bantamweight fight behind only Vaughn Lee vs. Nam Phan at “The Ultimate Fighter: China” finale in March 2014. Lee outlanded Phan by 118 significant strikes in that contest.

145: Signficant head strikes for Font. By comparison Garbrandt landed 45. Font also held a notable 23-to-8 edge in significant body strikes.

11: Finishes from the crucifix position in UFC history after Carla Esparza used it to dispatch Xiaonan Yan 2:58 into the second round of their co-main event matchup. The others to use the crucifix to achieve victory in the Octagon are as follows: Valentina Shevchenko (twice), Gary Goodridge, Matt Hughes, Dong Hyun Kim, Paul Kelly, Jon Jones, Daniel Cormier, Daniel Pineda and Tyson Pedro.
