The UFC Fight Night 187 main event ended just 19 seconds into Round 2, when an accidental eye poke from Edwards left Muhammad unable to continue. For Edwards, it continues a string of frustrating incidents that has limited his activity as a fighter the past two years. Muhammad, meanwhile, missed out on an opportunity to prove himself on the biggest stage of his MMA career to date.

19: Significant strikes landed by Edwards, who rocked Muhammad with a head kick in the first round of the welterweight headliner. By comparison, Muhammad landed eight significant strikes in the abbreviated contest.
2: Bouts at UFC Fight Night 187 that ended in a no contest: Edwards vs. Muhammad due to an eye poke and Eryk Anders vs. Darren Stewart as a result of an illegal knee.
602: Days since Edwards’ last Octagon appearance, a five-round verdict over Rafael dos Anjos in the UFC on ESPN 4 headliner on July 20, 2019. COVID-19 wreaked havoc on the Englishman’s fight itinerary since then, resulted in three canceled bouts before Muhammad stepped in for Khamzat Chimaev on Saturday.
16: Significant strikes landed by Ryan Spann in 1:11 before defeating Misha Cirkunov by technical knockout in the light heavyweight co-main event. Spann landed 16 of 29 attempts, a 55 percent succcess rate, and floored his foe once in the frame.
0:22: Time of Dan Ige’s knockout of Gavin Tucker in a featured affair at 145 pounds. That’s the sixth-fastest knockout in UFC featherweight history. Ige needed to land just one significant strike against his short-notice foe, who was a replacement for Ryan Hall.
20: Unofficial media scorecards, of the 20 tracked by MMADecisions.com, that submitted 29-28 scorecards for Manel Kape in his flyweight clash against Matheus Nicolau. Meanwhile, judges Chris Lee and Bryan Miner saw it 29-28 for Nicolau, giving the Brazilian a split-decision triumph. Kape, a former Rizin champ, is now 0-2 in the UFC.
61: Significant strikes landed by Kape. Nicolau, meanwhile, landed 55. Kape outlanded his foe 28 to 21 in Round 2 and 31 to 27 in Round 3, while Nicolau held a 7-to-2 edge in Round 1. Nicolau also went 2 for 3 on takedowns in the opening stanza but failed on all six of his attempts thereafter.
28: Significant strikes by which Eryk Anders outlanded Darren Stewart in their middleweight tilt before the bout was declared a no contest at the 4:37 mark of Round 1 due to an illegal knee from Anders. Anders also landed a knockdown in the round, making him the first person to floor Stewart in 12 UFC appearances.
8: UFC victories at strawweight for Angela Hill, tying her with Carla Esparza and Tecia Torres for second most in division history behind only ex-champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk (10). Hill outpointed Ashley Yoder in a rematch on Saturday night.

64: Combined significant strike advantage for Hill in two unanimous decision victories over Yoder, one at UFC Fight Night 187 (77 to 34) and the other at “The Ultimate Fighter 25” finale (47 to 26).
31: Significant strikes by which Charles Jourdain outlanded Marcelo Rojo in the third round en route to a TKO triumph at the 4:31 mark of the period. In addition to a large advantage in significant strikes, Jourdain scored two knockdowns in the stanza.
11: Career submissions in UFC and WEC competition for Rani Yahya. That ties him with Nate Diaz and Demian Maia for the fifth most in history among fighters with experience in the UFC, WEC, Pride and Strikeforce. Yahya vanquised Ray Rodriguez with an arm-triangle choke 3:09 into Round 2 of their bantamweight encounter.
99: Significant strikes landed by Nasrat Haqparast in a unanimous decision win over the previously-unbeaten Rafa Garcia at lightweight. Haqparast has landed more than 90 significant strikes in four of his seven promotional outings.
16: Unofficial media scorecards, of the 17 tracked by MMADecisions.com, that awarded the flyweight bout between J.J. Aldrich and Cortney Casey to Casey. However, judges Michael Bell and Sal D’Amato submitted 29-28 tallies in favor of Aldrich, allowing the Coloradoan to take home a split-decision triumph.
121: Total strikes landed by Casey. By comparison, Aldrich landed 58. Casey also held a 55-to-45 advantage in significant strikes landed.
4: Takedowns landed in seven attempts by Aldrich, who was able to ground Casey in every frame while logging 5:44 of control time.
0:16: Time of Matthew Semelsberger’s knockout victory against Jason Witt in the evening’s opening preliminary bout. That’s the seventh fastest KO/TKO in UFC welterweight history and gives Semelsberger finishes in six of his eight professional triumphs. Jorge Masvidal still holds the top spot with his five-second KO of Ben Askren at UFC 239.
