Stephen Thompson isn’t ready to be anyone’s steppingstone.

“Wonderboy” executed a clinic in the UFC Fight Night 183 headliner, utilizing crisp straight punches, a toolbox of kicks and confounding movement to capture a unanimous decision triumph over Geoff Neal on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. In the promotion’s final fight of a tumultuous 2020, Thompson sent a message that he is still a dangerous force in the welterweight division.

Here is a by-the-numbers look at UFC Fight Night 183, with statistics courtesy of UFCStats.com.

4:53: Total control time in Round 3 for Jose Aldo in the bantamweight co-main event against Marlon Vera. The former featherweight champion took his foe’s back and remained attached for the majority of the frame, which proved critical in a bout the Nova Uniao star won by a trio of 29-28 scorecards.

32: Total strikes by which Vera outlanded Aldo. While Vera outlanded his foe by a 92-to-60 count in total strikes, he only held a 46-to-44 edge in significant strikes.
