Jack Hermansson was willing to dream big by taking a short-notice fight against one of the sport’s great middleweights in Ronaldo Souza, and his gamble paid off in a big way.

Here is a by-the-numbers look at UFC Fight Night 150, with statistics courtesy of FightMetric.com.
3: Takedowns landed in 10 attempts by Hermansson, the most “Jacare”
has ever surrendered in a
Ultimate Fighting Championship or Strikeforce
bout. To put in perspective the respect opponents have for Souza’s
ground game, the 10 takedowns attempted by Hermansson are also the
most of any of the Brazilian’s opponents.
148: Significant strikes landed by Hermansson, a UFC record for a five-round middleweight fight. By comparison, Souza landed 90 significant strikes.
256: Total strikes landed by Hermansson. Souza, meanwhile, landed 120. That included a whopping 107-to-10 advantage in round two.
1: Submission attempt in the fight. Interestingly enough, that try came from Hermansson with a guillotine choke in the opening stanza.
2:15: Time of Greg Hardy’s first UFC triumph, a technical knockout of Dmitry Smoliakov. That’s still the second longest bout of the former NFL Pro Bowler’s five-bout MMA career behind only his Octagon debut, which ended via disqualification at the 2:28 mark of round two.
14: Significant strikes landed by Hardy. Smoliakov only landed one in defeat while failing on a pair of takedown tries.
20: Significant strikes landed by Smoliakov in three UFC defeats. Smoliakov was finished in all of those bouts.
3: Occasions in which Alex Oliveira has gone the distance during his UFC tenure. The third time wasn’t as successful as the first two, as the Brazilian “Cowboy” dropped a unanimous verdict to Mike Perry in a featured welterweight affair. Oliveira previously took decision wins over James Moontasri and Joe Merritt in the Octagon.
12: UFC triumphs for Glover Teixeira, the fifth-most in modern light heavyweight history behind Jon Jones (18), Ryan Bader (15), Rashad Evans (13) and Chuck Liddell (13). Teixeira submitted Ion Cutelaba with a rear-naked choke at the 3:37 mark of the second round on Saturday night.
10: Finishes in UFC competition for Teixeira. That ties him with Jones for the most finishes in modern UFC light heavyweight history. Teixeira’s five submission victories also tie him with Jones for No. 1 all-time at 205 pounds.
44: Significant strikes by which Cutelaba outlanded Teixeira before being submitted.
226: Combined significant strikes landed by Cory Sandhagen (120) and John Lineker (106) in their featured bantamweight bout. Sandhagen edged Lineker to take a split-decision victory.
32: Significant leg strikes landed by Sandhagen. By comparison, Lineker landed 10.
39: Significant strikes landed for Lineker. Sandhagen, meanwhile, landed 16.
12: Unofficial media scorecards, of the 13 tracked by MMADecisions.com, that scored the heavyweight bout between Andrei Arlovski and Augusto Sakai in favor of Arlovski. Two cageside judges saw things differently, however, as Sakai captured a split-decision triumph.
33: Significant strikes by which Arlovski outlanded Sakai. The former heavyweight king outlanded his opponent 19 to 9 in round one, 25 to 17 in round two and 31 to 16 in round three.
4: Takedowns landed in 10 attempts for Carla Esparza in a unanimous verdict over Virna Jandiroba at strawweight. “Cookie Monster” has now landed 29 takedowns during her UFC tenure.
6: Finishes for Gilbert Burns since 2014. That ties him with Dustin Poirier and Kevin Lee for second-most in the lightweight division during that time. Tony Ferguson is first with seven finishes.
8: Career submission victories for Jim Miller following his rear-naked choke tapout of Jason Gonzalez in a preliminary lightweight affair. That moves the New Jersey native past Nate Diaz, Charles Oliveira and Joe Lauzon for most all-time in the history of the division.
11: Finishes in UFC competition for Miller, second all-time at 155 pounds behind only Lauzon.
19: Career UFC victories for Miller, which ranks No. 5 in the history of the Las Vegas-based promotion. Donald Cerrone is No. 1 with 22 wins, while Georges St. Pierre, Michael Bisping and Demian Maia are tied for second with 20 apiece.
32: Career Octagon appearances for Miller, the most in UFC history. Miller’s Octagon tenure began in October 2008, when he choked out David Baron at UFC 89.
117: Significant strikes landed by Angela Hill in a unanimous decision triumph over Jodie Esquibel at strawweight. By comparison, Esquibel landed 57. Hill outlanded her foe 33 to 23 in round one, 43 to 19 in round two and 41 to 15 in round three.
5: Occasions in which Hill has landed more than 100 significant strikes in her UFC career. Hill is 3-2 in those bouts.
