Months inactive
Saunders last fought almost eight months ago, when he lost to Takashi Sato at UFC Fight Night 150. That was his third loss since knocking out Jake Ellenberger at UFC Fight Night 131. Brown, on the other hand, hasn’t fought in 25 months. The last time he graced the cage was on Nov. 11, 2017, when he knocked out Diego Sanchez with an elbow at UFC Fight Night 120. That’s a little more than two years of inactivity for the 38-year-old native of Xenia, Ohio.Wins by knockout
Thirteen of Brown’s 21 victories have come via KO or TKO. Apart from Sanchez, he has also starched the likes of Erick Silva, Mike Pyle and Mike Swick. Saunders carries with him 22 career wins, 11 by KO or TKO. His most prominent victims other than Ellenberger are Joe Riggs and Marcus Davis.Wins by submission
Brown and Saunders share the same number of submission wins at six. Brown has tapped out two opponents in the Octagon, Tim Means and Ryan Thomas. “Killa B,” meanwhile, has also submitted two fighters in UFC competition, one being Thomas and the other being Chris Heatherly.Longest winning streak
Both Brown and Saunders are capable of mounting winning streaks. Brown turned in a seven-fight undefeated run in the UFC, starting with a win over Chris Cope at UFC 143 and running through Stephen Thompson, Luis Ramos, Mike Swick, Jordan Mein, Mike Pyle and finally Erick Silva at UFC Fight Night 40 on May 10, 2014.Saunders also had a seven-fight winning streak, which ran from Dec. 10, 2005, when he beat Reggie Pena at Absolute Fighting Championships 14, until Dec. 10, 2008, when he made short work of Brandon Wolff at UFC Fight Night 16. During that stretch, he also defeated Rick Delvecchio, Kenny Stevens, Charles Blanchard, Daniel Barrera and Ryan Thomas.
