Nothing spurs conflict any better than a potential land grab.
As UFC Fight Night “Allen vs. Craig” approaches, a look at some of the numbers the fighters on the bill bring to the table:
8: Men other than Allen who have held the Legacy Fighting Alliance middleweight crown. The list: Eryk Anders, Markus Perez, Anthony Hernandez, Ian Heinisch, Gregory Rodrigues, Joshua Silveira, Osman Diaz and Lucas Fernando.
13: Craig wins by submission, accounting for 76% of his career total (17). His methods of choice: eight triangle chokes, two armbars, one guillotine choke, one brabo choke and one rear-naked choke.
5: Countries in which Matthews has plied his mixed martial arts trade. He has gone 13-3 in his native Australia, 1-3 in the United States, 2-0 in New Zealand, 2-0 in Singapore and 1-0 in the United Arab Emirates.
23: Years of age for Morales. The youngest fighter on the card, he was born on June 24, 2000 in Pasaje, Ecuador.
149: Significant strikes landed by Chase Hooper in a unanimous decision over Nick Fiore at UFC Fight Night 223 in May. It established a new personal high-water mark for the Washington native. Hooper confronts Jordan Leavitt in a three-round lightweight showcase.
100,000: Dollars in post-fight bonuses banked by Leavitt across his six appearances in the UFC. The Syndicate MMA rep has been awarded “Performance of the Night” twice.
3: Organizations for which the unbeaten Payton Talbott has suited up in MMA. He has gone 3-0 in Urijah Faber’s A1 Combat, 2-0 in Firepower Promotions and 1-0 in Dana White’s Contender Series. Talbott toes the line against Nick Aguirre in a three-round bantamweight attraction.
1,740: Miles between where Aguirre trains at the VFS Academy in Bensenville, Illinois, and UFC headquarters in Las Vegas.
2,435: Days since Luana Pinheiro last experienced a setback. She wound up on the wrong side of split scorecards against Cris Macfer Ferreira Macedo at an All Fights show on March 19, 2017. Pinheiro rides a nine-fight winning streak into her three-round women’s strawweight feature opposite Amanda Ribas.
31: Rounds completed by Ribas as a professional mixed martial artist. The former Jungle Fight champion has gone the distance on six different occasions and carries a 5-1 record in those bouts.
7: Uros Medic victories by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 78% of his career total (nine). His list of UFC victims: Matthew Semelsberger, Omar Morales and Aalon Cruz. Medic confronts Myktybek Orolbai in a three-round welterweight appetizer.
64: Seconds needed for Orolbai to put away Faruh Kadirov with a rear-naked choke under the World Ertaymash Federation banner on March 10, 2019. More than four years later, it remains his fastest finish to date.
36: Years of age for Chad Anheliger. The oldest fighter on the card, he was born in Kelowna, British Columbia, on Dec. 1, 1986. Anheliger faces Jose Johnson in a three-round bantamweight prelim.
.780: Cumulative winning percentage between the 28 fighters booked to compete at the event. They boast a combined record of 336-93-5. Allen has the most wins (22) of anyone on the card, while Johnson, Denis Tiuliulin and Lucie Pudilova have been saddled with the most losses (eight). The latter two are slated for undercard duty, as Tiuliulin meets Christian Leroy Duncan in a three-round middleweight clash and Pudilova tackles Ailin Perez in a three-round women’s bantamweight affair.
