In the first five-round test of her professional career, Alexa Grasso passed with flying colors.

The Mexican standout rode crisp combination punching and solid takedown defense to a unanimous decision triumph over Viviane Araujo in the UFC Fight Night 212 main event at the Ultimate Fighting Championship Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday night. While Grasso might not yet be next in line for a flyweight title shot, she is getting closer to the top of the division with each victory.

4: Consecutive victories at 125 pounds for Grasso, tying her with Katlyn Chookagian, Manon Fiorot and Casey O'Neill for the second-longest active winning streak in the division behind only reigning champion Valentina Shevchenko (nine).

153: Significant strikes landed by Grasso, the fourth most for a women’s flyweight bout in UFC history. Araujo, meanwhile, landed 126 significant strikes in defeat. The 278 significant combined significant strikes are the third most in promotion history for a female flyweight bout.

2: Takedowns landed in 10 attempts for Araujo. The Brazilian managed only 3:29 of control time in the 25-minute bout. Grasso did not attempt a takedown.

33: Significant body strikes for Grasso. Araujo, meanwhile, landed 17. Grasso also held a 19-to-6 edge in significant leg strikes.

14: Finishes in UFC history stemming from leg kicks. Jonathan Martinez joined this group with a leg-kick TKO of Cub Swanson in the second round of their bantamweight co-headlining clash.

34: Significant leg strikes landed by Swanson in defeat. By comparison, Martinez landed just seven. However, Martinez’s leg kicks proved to be the difference in the fight. Martinez also held a 40-to-10 advantage in significant head strikes.

12: Bantamweight triumphs for Raphael Assuncao, tying him with Aljamain Sterling and Marlon Vera for second most in UFC history at the weight class. Assuncao halted a four-bout skid with a unanimous decision triumph over Victor Henry in a featured 135-pound bout on Saturday.

.650: Significant striking accuracy for Assuncao, who landed 60 of 91 attempts while utilizing a counterpunching style. Henry was much less accurate, landing 55 of 126 attempts — a 43 percent clip.

10: First round finishes among 13 professional victories for Alonzo Menifield, who needed just 88 seconds to dispatch Misha Cirkunov in their featured light heavyweight encounter. The 34-year-old Texan has five first-round finishes in UFC competition.

4: Knockdowns for Leomana Martinez in his last two UFC appearances. The Glory MMA & Fitness representative scored two of those on Saturday in a split-decision triumph over Brandon Davis in a preliminary bantamweight affair, dropping his foe twice in the second stanza. Martinez also had two knockdowns — but was dropped three times himself — in a loss to Ronnie Lawrence at UFC 271.

163: Combined significant strikes landed by Martinez (87) and Davis (76). Martinez outlanded his adversary 31 to 24 in Round 1 and 37 to 29 in Round 2, while Davis held a 23-to-19 edge in the third period.

49: Significant strikes by which Jacob Malkoun outlanded Nick Maximov in a lopsided unanimous decision triumph at middleweight. Malkoun outlanded his opponent 83 to 34 in significant strikes and 129 to 56 in total strikes.

1: Significant leg strike landed by Malkoun, which ties for the most the Australian has landed in any UFC bout. Despite Maximov suffering an apparent injury to his right leg in Round 1, Malkoun didn’t increase his emphasis on leg kicks in the bout.

30: Takedowns landed by Malkoun in his last four UFC appearances. The man known as “Mamba” landed eight against Abdul Razak Alhassan, six against A.J. Dobson, seven against Brendan Allen and a career-high nine against Maximov.

9: Career first-round finishes among 14 professional victories for Joanderson Brito, who submitted short-notice foe Lucas Alexander with a rear-naked choke 2:02 into Round 1 of their featherweight showdown.

5: Takedowns landed in 11 attempts for Piera Rodriguez in a unanimous decision triumph over Sam Hughes at strawweight. Despite her success landing takedowns, “La Fiera” was only able to secure 1:56 of control time, as Hughes consistently returned to her feet in short order. However, Rodriguez supplemented those efforts with an 83-to-69 advantage in significant strikes landed.

6:19: Total control time for Japanese prospect Tatsuro Taira before he submitted C.J. Vergara with an armbar 4:19 into the second round of their preliminary flyweight clash. Taira landed three of eight takedowns and attempted two submissions en route to his 12th consecutive professional victory.
