By The Numbers: UFC 277 Pre-Fight Edition

The Ultimate Fighting Championship will once again go the title-twin-bill route at UFC 277 on Saturday at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, where Julianna Pena defends her undisputed women’s bantamweight belt against Amanda Nunes in the main event and Brandon Moreno meets Kai Kara France for the interim flyweight crown in the co-headliner.

As UFC 277 “Pena vs. Nunes 2” approaches, a look at some of the numbers the fighters on the card have brought with them:

6: Organizations in which Pena has competed as a mixed martial artist. She has gone 7-2 in the UFC, 1-1 in Conquest of the Cage, 1-0 in CageSport MMA, 1-0 in the International Fighting Championship, 1-0 in ExciteFight and 0-1 in Showdown Fights.

0.36: Knockdowns landed by Nunes per 15 minutes of UFC competition, placing her third on the promotion’s all-time women’s bantamweight list. Only Ronda Rousey (1.21) and Leslie Smith (0.49) rank ahead of her at 135 pounds.

250,000: Dollars in post-fight bonus money banked by Moreno across his 12 appearances in the UFC. He has been awarded “Performance of the Night” on three occasions and “Fight of the Night” on two others.

45: Significant strikes by which France has outlanded the opposition during his current three-fight winning streak. The City Kickboxing export has connected on 87 such strikes against Askar Askarov, Cody Garbrandt and Rogerio Bontorin while absorbing only 42 in return.

37: Years of age for Derrick Lewis. The oldest fighter on the card, he was born on Feb. 7, 1985 in New Orleans. Lewis faces the once-beaten Sergei Pavlovich in a three-round heavyweight showcase.

12: Stoppages inside one round for Pavlovich, highlighted by a 66-second knockout of Marcelo Golm at UFC Fight Night 149 in April 2019.

9: Alexandre Pantoja wins by submission, accounting for 38% of his career total (24). His methods of choice: seven rear-naked chokes, one triangle choke and one armbar. Pantoja confronts former Tachi Palace Fights champion Alex Perez in a three-round flyweight feature.

The former World Fighting Championship Akhmat titleholder puts his eight-fight winning streak on the line opposite Anthony Smith in a three-round light heavyweight attraction.
