The world pays closer attention whenever two top-shelf Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweights tangle inside the Octagon.

Tony Ferguson will attempt to rebound from his first setback in more than eight years when he meets Charles Oliveira in the UFC 256 co-headliner on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Ferguson has recorded 12 wins across his last 13 outings—a historic run that saw him tear through much of the 155-pound weight class. He last competed at UFC 249, where he succumbed to fifth-round punches from Justin Gaethje on May 9. Oliveira, meanwhile, finds himself on a seven-fight winning streak. He last appeared at UFC Fight Night 170 on March 14, when he submitted Kevin Lee with a third-round guillotine choke.

As Ferguson and Oliveira approach their high-stakes confrontation, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied to this point:

36: Years of age for Ferguson, who was born in Oxnard, California, on Feb. 12, 1984. Culture Club’s “Karma Chameleon” was Billboard’s No. 1 song on The Hot 100 list at the time.

1,051: Significant strikes landed by Ferguson as a UFC lightweight, placing him third on the promotion’s all-time list at 155 pounds. Only Evan Dunham (1,225) and Donald Cerrone (1,127) have connected with more. Ferguson also ranks third among lightweights in finishes (10), fourth in wins (15) and fifth in submissions (six).

10: UFC bouts in which either Ferguson or his opponent has executed at least one takedown. He holds a perfect 10-0 record in those fights.

11: Post-fight bonuses banked by Ferguson across his 17 appearances in the UFC. He has been awarded “Fight of the Night” six times, “Performance of the Night” three times, “Knockout of the Night” once and “Submission of the Night” once, resulting in $550,000 of additional income.

12: Ferguson victories by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 48% of his career total (25). His list of victims includes Cerrone, Ramsey Nijem, Aaron Riley, Katsunori Kikuno and Anthony Pettis. Ferguson owns eight other wins by submission.

31: Years of age for Oliveira, who was born on Oct. 17, 1989 in Guaruja, Brazil, aka the “Pearl of the Atlantic.”

19: Oliveira wins by submission, accounting for 66% of his professional total (29). His methods of choice: seven rear-naked chokes, five guillotine chokes, three anaconda chokes, one triangle armbar, one armbar, one calf slicer and one triangle choke. Oliveira holds eight other victories by knockout or technical knockout.

16: UFC finishes to Oliveira’s credit, tying him with Cerrone for first on the organization’s all-time list. Anderson Silva (14), Frank Mir (13), Matt Brown (13), Jim Miller (13), Joe Lauzon (13), Matt Hughes (12), Demian Maia (12) and Glover Teixeira (12) round out the Top 10 in the category.

3: Submission losses on the Oliveira resume. He tapped to a kneebar from Miller at UFC 124 on Dec. 11, 2010, bowed to a guillotine choke from Pettis at UFC on Fox 21 on Aug. 27, 2016 and surrendered to a guillotine choke from Ricardo Lamas at UFC Fight Night 98 on Nov. 5, 2016.

199: Combined wins between the eight men—Cerrone, Pettis, Miller, Lamas, Cub Swanson, Frankie Edgar, Max Holloway and Paul Felder—who have beaten Oliveira.
