By The Numbers: Peter Queally vs. Patricky Freire

Some saw it as a fluke. Peter Queally now gets a chance to prove otherwise.

Less than six months after his elbow strike from the bottom hacked open a fight-ending gash against Patricky Freire, Queally will rematch the two-time Bellator MMA tournament finalist in the Bellator 270 headliner on Friday at 3Arena in Dublin. Neither man has fought since their initial encounter ended after two rounds on May 7. Queally has rattled off three wins across his past four appearances and sports a 2-1 record in Bellator. Freire, meanwhile, enters the cage on a two-fight losing streak. He owns a 14-8 record in 22 assignments with the Scott Coker-led organization.

As Queally and Freire make final preparations for their sequel, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied them to this point:

32: Years of age for Queally, who was born on Feb. 19, 1989 in Waterford, Ireland.

10: Queally wins by decision, accounting for 77% of his career total (13). All 10 were of the unanimous variety. Queally owns three other wins by knockout or technical knockout, having put away Freire, Ryan Scope and David Khachatryan.

1: Stalemate on the Queally resume. The SBG Ireland export fought to a draw with Kuat Khamitov under the Fight Nights Global banner on Nov. 26, 2017.

8: Countries in which Queally has competed as a mixed martial artist. He has gone 6-3 in Ireland, 2-1 in Russia, 1-1 in South Africa, 1-0 in the United States, 1-0 in Italy, 1-0 in Poland, 1-0 in England and 0-0-1 in Kazakhstan.

.627: Cumulative winning percentage between the five men—Myles Price, Islam Begidov, Joe McColgan, Igeu Kabesa and Chris Boujard—who have defeated Queally. They sport a combined record of 42-24-1.

35: Years of age for Freire, who was born in Mossoro, Brazil, on Jan. 21, 1986.

15: Freire victories by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 65% of his career total (23). His list of Bellator victims: Roger Huerta, Derek Campos (twice), Josh Thomson, Ryan Couture, David Rickels, Kurt Pellegrino, Toby Imada and Rob McCullough. Freire holds one other victory by submission—he dispatched Ermesson Silveira Queiroz with a guillotine choke at a Gouveia Fight Championship show in April 2010—and seven more by decision.

14: Calendar years in which Freire has made at least one appearance, including his 0-1 mark in 2021. “Pitbull” went 2-0 in 2005, 1-0 in 2006, 1-1 in 2007, 3-0 in 2010, 3-1 in 2011, 0-2 in 2012, 1-1 in 2013, 2-1 in 2014, 1-1 in 2015, 2-1 in 2016, 2-0 in 2017, 2-0 in 2018 and 3-1 in 2019.

3: Sub-minute finishes on the Freire resume. He stomped out Joao Paulo Rodrigues de Souza in 50 seconds at a Cage Fight Nordeste event on Nov. 9, 2006, brought down the aforementioned Pellegrino with punches in 50 seconds at Bellator 59 on Nov. 26, 2011 and wiped out Luiz Gustavo Felix dos Santos with punches and a follow-up soccer kick in 28 seconds at Rizin Fighting Federation 20 on Dec. 31, 2019.

167: Combined wins between the eight men—Queally, Michael Chandler (twice), Derek Anderson (twice), Tofiq Musayev, Marcin Held, Eddie Alvarez, Williamy Freire and Lloyd Woodard—who have beaten Freire. They boast a cumulative record of 167-48-1 (.773). Advertisement
