Neiman Gracie and Logan Storley have drawn up plans to someday occupy the Bellator MMA penthouse at 170 pounds. First, they must deal with one another.
As Gracie and Storley approach their compelling headliner, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied them to this point:
33: Years of age for Gracie, who was born in Rio de Janeiro on Dec. 12, 1988.
9: Gracie victories by submission, accounting for 82% of his career total (11). His methods of choice: three rear-naked chokes, two armbars, two neck cranks, one heel hook and one arm-triangle choke. Gracie owns one other victory by knockout or technical knockout and one more by decision.
4: First-round finishes on the Gracie resume. In addition to his aforementioned rout of Lemminger, he submitted Darren Costa with an armbar 3:57 into their World Series of Fighting 5 pairing on Sept. 14, 2013, took care of Bobby Flynn with a neck crank 2:36 into their Bellator 134 clash on Feb. 27, 2015 and dispatched Rudy Bears with an armbar 4:39 into their Bellator 163 confrontation on Nov. 4, 2016.
2: Promotions in which Gracie has plied his mixed martial arts trade. He has gone 9-2 in Bellator and 2-0 in the World Series of Fighting.
110: Combined wins between the nine men—Lemminger, Flynn, Bears, Jon Fitch, Ed Ruth, Javier Torres, Zak Bucia, Dave Marfone and Roger Carroll—Gracie has beaten inside the Bellator cage. They boast a cumulative .655 winning percentage (110-56-2).
29: Years of age for Storley, who was born on Sept. 8, 1992 in Roslyn, South Dakota.
8: Storley wins by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 67% of his career total (12). His list of Bellator victims: E.J. Brooks, A.J. Matthews and Kemmyelle Haley. Storley holds four other wins by decision.
33: Seconds needed for Storley to put away Lemetra Griffin with punches under the Resurrection Fighting Alliance banner on March 4, 2016. Having occurred in his third professional appearance, it remains the fastest finish of his 13-fight career.
17: Rounds completed by Storley as a professional mixed martial artist. He has gone the distance on five different occasions and owns a 4-1 record in those bouts—a split decision defeat to current Bellator welterweight champion Yaroslav Amosov his only hiccup.
.651: Cumulative winning percentage between the seven opponents—Schiro, Brooks, Matthews, Haley, Ion Pascu, Joaquin Buckley and Matt Secore—Storley has defeated since he joined the Bellator roster a little less than five years ago. They sport a combined record of 82-44.
