Michael Page finds himself staring at a high risk-low reward proposition at Bellator 248, where he will toe the line against undefeated former Cage Warriors Fighting Championship titleholder Ross Houston on Saturday at Accor Arena in Paris.
As Page and Houston make their final preparations, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied them to this point:
33: Years of age for Page, who was born in London on April 7, 1987.
11: Page wins by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 65% of his career total (17). His list of victims includes David Rickels, Evangelista Santos, Rudy Bears and Ricky Rainey.
10: Seconds needed for Page to punch out Ryan Sanders at Bellator 93 in 2013. It remains the only sub-minute finish of his 18-fight career.
5: Countries in which Page has competed as a professional mixed martial artist. He has gone 8-1 in the United States, 5-0 in England, 2-0 in India, 1-0 in Japan and 1-0 in Ireland.
1: Loss on the Page ledger. He was on the receiving end of a brutal second-round knockout from Douglas Lima in the semifinals of the 2018-19 Bellator Welterweight Grand Prix.
33: Years of age for Houston, who was born on April 4, 1987 in Inverness, Scotland.
140: Days spent by Houston as undisputed Cage Warriors champion. Eleven other men have held the 170-pound crown in the 19-year history of the organization: Adrian Degorski, Abdul Mohamed, Dan Hardy, Forrest Petz, Pascal Krauss, Gael Grimaud, Cathal Pendred, Nicolas Dalby, Karl Amoussou, Stefano Paterno and Mason Jones.
3: Houston wins by submission, accounting for 38% of his career total (eight). He put away Dane Morgan with an armbar 4:55 into the first round of their Cage Warriors 76 pairing on June 4, 2016, choked Dylan McLoughlin unconscious with a guillotine 31 seconds into first round of their Cage Warriors 82 affair on April 1, 2017 and took care of Nathan Jones with a rear-naked choke 2:59 into the second round of their Cage Warriors 95 clash on July 21, 2018.
.610: Cumulative winning percentage between the seven fighters—Paterno, Jones, McLoughlin, Morgan, Aaron Khalid, Thomas Jessing and Joey Morency—Houston has defeated since he turned pro in March 2016. He has beaten Khalid twice.
2: Assignments for Houston outside of Cage Warriors. He appeared once in the Scottish Fight Challenge promotion and once in the On Top Promotions organization.
