Brady will put his perfect 14-0 record on the line when he meets “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 15 winner Michael Chiesa in the UFC Fight Night 198 co-main event on Saturday at the UFC Apex, where a victory could conceivably vault the unbeaten Daniel Gracie protégé into a new competitive tax bracket at 170 pounds. He joined the UFC roster in 2019 and has done nothing but raise his stock since. Brady last appeared at UFC 259, where he put away Jake Matthews with an arm-triangle choke in the third round of their March 6 pairing. Chiesa, meanwhile, has rattled off four wins across his past five outings. He last competed on Aug. 7, when he surrendered to a Vicente Luque brabo choke in the first round of their UFC 265 showcase.
As Brady and Chiesa make final preparations for their high-stakes showdown, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied them to this point:
33: Years of age for Chiesa, who was born on Dec. 7, 1987 in Aurora, Colorado.
11: Chiesa wins by submission, accounting for 61% of his career total (18). His methods of choice: eight rear-naked chokes, one triangle choke, one brabo choke and one kimura. Chiesa owns seven other wins by decision.
5: First-round finishes on the Chiesa resume. However, only one of them has taken place inside the Octagon, as he put Serra-Longo Fight Team standout Al Iaquinta to sleep with a rear-naked choke in 2:47 at “The Ultimate Fighter 15” Finale on June 1, 2012.
