By The Numbers: Kevin Holland vs. Jack Della Maddalena
Kevin Holland built his name on embracing challenges. Now, he stares down the barrel of one of the Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight division’s most promising young guns.
The Phalanx MMA Academy product will attempt to improve upon a 12-6 record inside the Octagon when he faces Jack Della Maddalena in the UFC Fight Night 227 co-main event on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Holland enters the cage on the strength of back-to-back victories. He last appeared at UFC 291, where he put away “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 15 winner Michael Chiesa with a brabo choke in the first round of their July 29 encounter. Della Maddalena, meanwhile, finds himself on a remarkable 15-fight winning streak that stretches back to 2016. He last competed on July 15, when he eked out a split decision over Bassil Hafez at UFC on ESPN 49.
