By The Numbers: Kayla Harrison vs. Cindy Dandois

Kayla Harrison has met or exceeded all expectations since she made her mixed martial arts debut three years ago under the Professional Fighters League flag.

The American Top Team export will put her undefeated record on the line when she meets Cindy Dandois in the PFL 6 main event on Friday at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Harrison has rattled off nine consecutive victories to start her career. She last appeared at PFL 3 on May 6, when she punched out Mariana Morais inside one round. Dandois has won four of her past five bouts. The Belgian made her organizational debut at PFL 3, where she dropped a three-round unanimous decision to Kaitlin Young.

As Harrison and Dandois approach their headlining assignment, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied them to this point:

30: Years of age for Harrison, who was born in Middletown, Ohio, on July 2, 1990. “Days of Thunder” was the No. 1 movie at the domestic box office and New Kids on the Block’s “Step By Step” was the No. 1 song on Billboard’s Hot 100 list at the time.

4: Harrison wins by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 44% of her career total (nine). Her list of victims: Morais, Courtney King, Moriel Charneski and Jozette Cotton. Harrison owns three other wins by submission and two more by decision.

105: Total strikes by which Harrison outlanded Larissa Pacheco, as she recorded a five-round unanimous decision over the Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran in the 2019 PFL women’s lightweight final. She connected on 119 strikes against the former Jungle Fight champion while absorbing only 14 in return.

She submitted Brittney Elkin with an armbar 3:18 into their June 21, 2018 pairing, dispatched Charneski with punches 3:39 into their Dec. 31, 2018 affair, put away Morgan Frier with a keylock 3:35 into their July 11, 2019 clash, dismissed Bobbi Jo Dalziel with an armbar 3:32 into their Oct. 11, 2019 confrontation and took care of Morais with punches 1:23 into their May 6, 2021 encounter.

2: Olympic gold medals on the Harrison mantle. The judoka struck gold in the 78-kilogram division at the 2012 Summer Games in London and repeated the feat four years later in Rio de Janeiro. A Jimmy Pedro protégé, Harrison holds the rank of sixth-degree black belt in judo.

36: Years of age for Dandois, who was born on Oct. 26, 1984 in Deurne, Belgium, more than 3,600 miles from Professional Fighters League headquarters.

8: Dandois victories by submission, accounting for 50% of her career total (16). Her methods of choice: five triangle chokes, one scarf hold armlock, one rear-naked choke and one armbar. Dandois holds five other victories by knockout or technical knockout, two more by decision and one by disqualification.
