The Fortis MMA mainstay will put his modest two-fight winning streak on the line when he meets Julian Erosa in a UFC Fight Night 200 featherweight attraction on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Peterson has compiled a 3-3 record through six assignments inside the Octagon. He last competed at UFC 263, where he took a unanimous decision from Chase Hooper on June 12. Erosa, meanwhile, has won four of his past five bouts. The Xtreme Couture rep last appeared on Sept. 4, when he submitted Charles Jourdain with a brabo choke 2:56 into the third round of their UFC Fight Night 191 pairing.

As Peterson and Erosa move ever closer to their three-round battle at 145 pounds, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied them to this point:

32: Years of age for Erosa, who was born in Seattle on July 31, 1989.

12: Erosa wins by submission, accounting for 46% of his career total (26). His methods of choice: four brabo chokes, three armbars, three triangle chokes, one rear-naked choke and one bulldog choke. Erosa owns 11 other wins by knockout or technical knockout and three more by decision.

6: First-round finishes on the Erosa resume, highlighted by his 56-second flying knee technical knockout of former M-1 Global champion Nate Landwehr at UFC Fight Night 185 a little more than a year ago.

2: Octagon appearances in which Erosa has landed at least 100 significant strikes. He connected with 103 of them in his aforementioned conquest of Jourdain and also delivered 103 of them in a third-round brabo choke submission of Sean Woodson at UFC on ESPN 12 in June 2020.

128: Combined victories between the nine fighters—Seung Woo Choi, Julio Arce, Grant Dawson, Devonte Smith, Bobby McIntyre, Paddy Pimblett, Teruto Ishihara, Lee Morrison and Drew Brokenshire—who have defeated Erosa. They boast a cumulative winning percentage of .707 (128-49-4).

31: Years of age for Peterson, who was born on May 29, 1990 in Redondo Beach, California.

8: Peterson victories by submission, accounting for 42% of his career total (19). His methods of choice: three rear-naked chokes, two armbars, two guillotine chokes and one omoplata. Peterson holds five other victories by knockout or technical knockout and six more by decision.

24: Seconds needed for Peterson to dismiss Quaint Kempf with an armbar at Xtreme Knockout 9 on Jan. 29, 2011. Having occurred more than a decade ago, it remains the fastest finish of his 28-fight career.

7: Organizations in which Peterson has competed as a mixed martial artist. He has gone 8-2 in the Legacy Fighting Championship, 3-3 in the UFC, 4-1 in Xtreme Knockout, 2-1 in the Legacy Fighting Alliance, 1-1 in Bellator MMA, 1-0 in Texas Cage Fighting and 0-1 in Dana White’s Contender Series.

.702: Cumulative winning percentage between the nine men—Alex Caceres, Luis Pena, Brandon Davis, Benito Lopez, Leandro Higo, George Pacurariu, Matt Hobar, Chris Jones and Brad Mitchell—who have beaten Peterson. They sport a combined record of 106-45.
