By The Numbers: Jingliang Li vs. Tony Ferguson
Tony Ferguson appears to have exhausted all his options at 155 pounds, which has resulted in his setting up shop elsewhere.
“El Cucuy” will return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight division for the first time in more than a decade when he tackles Jingliang Li in the UFC 279 co-main event on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Ferguson enters the cage in the throes of a career-worst four-fight losing streak. He last competed at UFC 274, where he was felled by a sensational front kick from former Bellator MMA champion Michael Chandler in the second round of their May 7 pairing. Li, meanwhile, has alternated wins and losses in each of his past four outings. He last appeared on July 16, when he took care of Muslim Salikhov with punches and elbows in the second round of their UFC on ABC 3 encounter.
