Brian Knapp: Violent knockouts are nothing new for Damacio Page, whose 18-second roasting of Marcos Galvao in 2009 will be forever remembered as one of the most frightening finishes in World Extreme Cagefighting history. They call the man “The Angel of Death” for a reason. Page added another vicious KO to his resume on Oct. 17, when he obliterated Brian Hall 1:48 into the first round of their Legacy Fighting Championship 36 co-main event. The Bellator MMA vet dropped Page with an early left hook, but the Jackson-Wink MMA rep recovered quickly, grabbed Hall’s legs and worked for a takedown. Page attempted a few more takedowns before turning his focus elsewhere. Seeing Hall’s hands lowering to defend his advances, Page threw a double jab fake with his left and then connected with an overhand right that knocked the 32-year-old unconscious and sent him crashing to the canvas. The victory brought with it the Legacy FC flyweight title and breathed further life into the resurgent Page’s career.

Tristen Critchfield: When Henry Cejudo received his call-up to the UFC this summer after two Legacy Fighting Championship appearances, Damacio Page was none too pleased. After all, the Olympic gold medalist withdrew from a scheduled bout against Page at Legacy FC 31 for personal reasons, a dubious explanation at best according to the Jackson-Wink MMA product.

“His personal reason was that I was going to knock his ass out,” Page told Sherdog.com. Weight cutting issues aside, Page felt that Cejudo had not been adequately tested on his path to the Octagon. Namely, he hadn’t faced anyone with serious power in his hands.

“I can knock anybody out at any given time. If you don’t have much of a chin, I’m gonna put you out,” Page explained.

Whatever pent-up anger Page might have had was released a few months later, when he viciously KO’ed Brian Hall inside of a round to capture flyweight gold. A massive overhand right with bad intentions behind it followed that double jab feint and left Hall stiff as a board on the canvas in Page’s hometown. Consider it a message sent.

C.J. Tuttle: There’s nothing quite like satiating your desire for violence with a walkoff knockout. Damacio Page did just that for viewers of Legacy FC 36, in under two minutes, no less. Not only did the knockout make for perfect GIF fodder throughout the mixed martial arts universe, but with three consecutive wins coming by way of finish to conclude his run in 2014, “The Angel of Death” seems primed for a second run in the UFC.
