Even in the immense shadow of Conor McGregor, Ferguson has managed to carve out a niche all his own in arguably the toughest division in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. “El Cucuy” has pieced together a run of 10 straight victories -- the longest such streak in the history of the 155-pound weight class -- and laid claim to the interim lightweight title with a third-round triangle choke submission on Kevin Lee at UFC 216 on Oct. 7. It was the latest high-profile conquest during a tear that has seen Ferguson defeat Edson Barboza, Josh Thomson and Gleison Tibau, among others. Inextricably linked to his two unforgettable wars with Eddie Alvarez, Chandler has solidified himself as one of Bellator MMA’s cornerstones. The 31-year-old High Ridge, Missouri, native sports a resume that features two title reigns at 155 pounds and victories over Alvarez, Benson Henderson, Marcin Held, Patricky Freire (twice) and Derek Campos.
