Mir has an appetite for bending and breaking limbs. Case in point: his snap-crackle-pop submission victory over Sylvia at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

The bout ended quickly after Mir grabbed Sylvia’s arm and wall walked his leg around the 6-foot-8 behemoth’s head to lock in the submission. With Mir’s hips arched and all his pressure squarely on the Maine native’s arm, Sylvia tried to posture up and power out of the hold, applying more negative force than his forearm allowed. Seconds later, the arm visibly snapped, and referee Herb Dean was forced to intervene. Sylvia was visibly displeased with Dean’s decision, even as he walked awkwardly around the cage with his arm practically hanging on by a thread.
