Chalid Arrab vs. Kazuhiro Nakamura

Coming into the fight, nobody expected the stand-up oriented Chalid “Die Faust” Arrab to be able to hang with Kazuhiro Nakamura and his amazing judo skills. Chalid proved the nay-sayers wrong…for almost five minutes.

Arrab actually dominated the first few minutes of the fight, working his precise striking to keep Nakamura at bay. Chalid also reversed a takedown attempt, and worked a beautiful escape from one of Naka’s armbars. After a guard pass to mount by Naka, Die Faust got caught in another amazingly set up armbar, but this time he was forced to tap.

Nakamura wins via submission by armbar at 4:45 in Round 1.
