Down the Pub: Cage Rage 13 Preview

Brazilian Tulio Palhares (Pictures) (2-11) is a tough, game fighter who has been competing in MMA since 1996. He’s faced some excellent competition in the past, such as Igor Vovchanchyn (Pictures), Andrei Semenov (Pictures) and Martin de Jong. However, he did lose to all of those, and also lost in his last fight, at CR 9, where he was triangled by striker Alex Reid (Pictures).

James Nicholl (Pictures) (4-0) is the UKMMAC middleweight champion and has the distinction of being, in this reporter’s opinion, one of the most well rounded fighters active in the UK. Usually when I enthuse about a fighter they lose but I really can’t see that happening with Nicholl. Although his last outing was at CR 8, a year ago, it was such a cool, dominating performance that I really can’t see him dropping this one.

Nicholl wins by stoppage midway through the second round.
