Edgar has put up eye-popping statistics in compiling a hall-of-fame resume.

“The Answer” has excelled in two UFC weight classes, all while embodying classic New Jersey toughness. Edgar laid claim to the Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight crown with an upset of B.J. Penn at UFC 112 in April 2010 and then retained the title with a more decisive victory over the Hawaiian in their rematch four months later. The 34-year-old has since downshifted to 145 pounds and fought for a piece of the UFC featherweight championship on two occasions.

In his 20 UFC appearances, Edgar has connected for 1,871 total strikes, proving equally effective on the feet and on the ground. He was at his best in his November 2014 pairing with Cub Swanson in the UFC Fight Night 57 headliner. There, Edgar assaulted Swanson with 259 strikes before submitting him with a fifth-round neck crank.
