4. Cheick Kongo vs. Pat Barry
UFC Live 4 “Kongo vs. Barry”
June 26, 2011 | Pittsburgh

The taller Kongo took a measured approach with several stinging leg kicks, but Barry, a K-1 kickboxer, eventually closed the gap and slammed an overhand right onto his counterpart’s ear. Kongo dropped where he stood, but when Barry rushed in to finish the job, the punches he landed seemed to wake up the Frenchman.

Kongo tried to get back to his feet, only to be floored again by a sizzling right hand to the jaw. Again, Kongo appeared to be on the verge of having his lights turned out for good. Somehow, he bounced back to his feet and stumbled into the cage. Barry gave chase in hopes of ending it right there but walked into a right hook. “HD” ignored the glancing blow, but in his haste to secure the finish with a left hook, he left himself open to the counter. Kongo connected with a right hook to the jaw that iced the New Orleans native on the spot. Barry doubled over on his right leg, his open eyes staring into the abyss.
