5. Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier

It is impossible to overstate the disdain these two have for each other. They came to blows at a pre-fight press conference in Las Vegas and have let loose with countless rage-filled insults. While many combat sports rivalries are hyped beyond belief, the hatred that exists between Jones and Cormier seems genuine; and fans have eaten it up.

Jones captured a lopsided unanimous decision from “DC” at UFC 182. From there, he went through a well-publicized fall from grace that led to a suspension and his being stripped of the UFC light heavyweight championship. Even so, Jones and Cormier continued to trade verbal barbs, the heat between them increasing when “DC” laid claim to the vacant 205-pound title. Once “Bones” was reinstated, a rematch was booked for UFC 197 -- a sequel that had to be put on hold when Cormier suffered an injury in training.

They will meet again in the UFC 200 headliner at what the promotion has billed as the biggest event in its history. Only time will tell if the score between Jones and Cormier can ever be settled.
