Raposo has been on the UFC’s radar for a while after unsuccessful outings on “The Ultimate Fighter” and the Contender Series in 2021, so it’s not a shock that he got the call after stringing together four straight victories. As a former wrestler, Raposo has done well to build out a solid striking game, even if he’s still in the throes of some growing pains. His approach on the feet doesn’t often connect to his wrestling, and Raposo has often been too willing to cede ground and initiative to his strongest opposition. That makes for an interesting pairing against Lima, who’s much more of a pressure fighter even if he also picks his spots. The Brazilian usually likes to invite exchanges in the hopes he can time his opponents’ offense once they decide to throw. Lima’s a solid defensive wrestler but not an outstanding one, so Raposo might have some success turning things into a grind. Even so, Lima seems like the surer bet to land the hardest shots of the fight in what should be a fun bout. The pick is Lima via decision.
