Welterweights
Kevin Jousset (8-2, 0-0 UFC) vs. Kiefer Crosbie (10-3, 0-0 UFC)As some fights fell through on this card, the UFC added some depth by signing these two welterweights to compete on short notice. A Frenchman based out of Australia, Jousset is the local favorite and looks solid on the surface. The City Kickboxing product might not be the most dynamic fighter at times, but he is patient, well-practiced and has been able to hold his own just about anywhere against regional competition. He will look to neutralize Ireland’s Crosbie, a Bellator MMA veteran with a fairly straightforward pressure style. “Big Daddy” may have taken his lumps during his time in Bellator, but an April win over Alex Oliveira was a strong showing that gives him some momentum heading into his UFC debut. It would not be a shock if Crosbie took this through aggression and sheer grit, but the safer bet seems to be Jousset successfully keeping him at bay for 15 minutes. The pick is Jousset via decision.
