NR | Christos Giagos (18-8, 4-4 UFC) vs. NR | Sean Soriano (14-6, 0-3 UFC)

ODDS: Giagos (-230), Soriano (+190)

This should be a fun clash between two fighters looking to make the most of their second UFC tenure. Giagos was an entertaining fighter during his first stint on the UFC roster. An above-average athlete, “The Spartan” favored offense and pressure in all phases. Still being a raw fighter, that got Giagos into trouble more often than not, and he was released after two losses in three bouts. It was a bit of a surprising cut at the time, but it was also a surprise when the UFC brought him back three years later. Not that Giagos is not a UFC-level fighter, but he is much the same fighter that he was when the promotion cut him in the first place. Giagos has won three of his last four bouts, mostly on the back of outwrestling his opponents, and he looks to build on that here against a UFC returnee. Soriano went winless during his first UFC run, which looks tougher in retrospect than it did at the time. Tatsuya Kawajiri was quite the tough veteran opponent, and Chas Skelly and Charles Rosa are talents that have found plenty of success in the ensuing six years. Soriano has turned into a solid and well-rounded fighter in his own right, which should make this a fun back-and-forth affair. Soriano is the much more dangerous fighter, but Giagos figures to have the ability to back him up and control the fight, particularly with his wrestling. Soriano could end this with one good knockout punch, but the pick is for Giagos to ride out things and get the decision.
