‘TUF 6’ Down to Danzig, Speer

Undercard

Undercard
The undercard of "The Ultimate Fighter 6" finale features more of the season's alumni in bouts that will hopefully provide more fireworks than their matches during the show.

Leading things off is Richie Hightower (Pictures) taking on Troy Mandaloniz (Pictures). What exactly being a "Dirty Samurai" entails I'll never know, but Hightower (7-1) and "Rude Boy" Mandaloniz (2-1) both need to show major improvement if they're going to stick around in the UFC.

Don't expect much out of this one as neither man has a particularly scintillating skill set. I'll take Hightower's experience over Mandaloniz's tenacity. Look for an uneventful unanimous decision win for the Samurai in need of washing.

Next up is Matt Arroyo locking horns with John Kolosci (Pictures), who unsuccessfully petitioned to fight Mac Danzig (Pictures) as part of an ongoing best of 27 series. While Kolosci showed decent skills during the show, Arroyo (2-1) appeared poised to give Danzig his stiffest test yet prior to pulling out of the competition with an injury.

As one of the few fighters from this season with a legitimate chance of sticking around in the welterweight division, Arroyo should have little trouble putting away Kolosci (8-4) via TKO.

Everyone's favorite ranting Armenian, Roman Mitichyan, will finally get a chance to unleash some of that pent-up anger on Muay Thai specialist Dorian Price (Pictures). Known as much for those powerful strikes as his Sean Penn approach to dealing with cameramen, Price (7-2) lacks the grappling to compete in the UFC. Mitichyan's strong judo background should be all he needs to put away Price.

Unless Price can catch Mitichyan (3-1) early and often with strikes, expect an easy night's work for Mitichyan, and hopefully a lengthy post-fight interview featuring Mitichyan's opinions on the medical profession.

As the only member of this season's cast to be matched with a *GASP* actual UFC veteran, Paul Georgieff has an uphill battle against Canadian Jonathan "The Road Warrior" Goulet. Given Georgieff (5-1) is more accustomed to competing in the lightweight division, Goulet (20-9, 1 NC) should have no problem getting his smaller opponent to the canvas, where he can work his usual ground-and-pound approach.

Expect 15 minutes' worth of Goulet chipping away at Georgieff before an inevitable unanimous decision win is announced for "The Road Warrior." With that, an end to another season of "The Ultimate Fighter" and a return to more important things, like the upcoming season of "The Ultimate Fighter" and the season that will follow that one.
