• The semifinal round of Sengoku's featherweight grand prix has been set: Marlon Sandro vs. Michihiro Omigawa and Hatsu Hioki vs. Masanori Kanehara were announced this week. The bouts take place Aug. 2 at Saitama Super Arena. The card will also feature Kazuo Misaki vs. Kazuhiro Nakamura and Satoru Kitaoka vs. Mizuto Hirota for the lightweight title.
• Heath Herring is out of his UFC 99 fight against Cain Velasquez due to injury. Cheick Kongo will instead take on the undefeated Velasquez instead on the June 13 card.
• Anthony Johnson has pulled out of his June 20 fight against Matt Brown on “The Ultimate Fighter 9” live finale special on Spike TV. Johnson was injured in training. Brown said after Johnson’s announcement that he was also hurting and will not be competing on the card.
• Canadian welterweight T.J. Grant, coming off a win over Ryo Chonan in his UFC 97 debut, agreed to face Martin Kampmann on the TUF 9 finale card, but Kampmann seemed undecided. Kampmann told Versus.com that he doesn’t think the fight makes sense for him at the moment. He is coming off a decision win over Carlos Condit in April on Spike TV. • Andre Amade will meet DEEP champion Katsunori Kikuno at Dream 10 from Saitama Super Arena, according to a report from Tatame.com.
