The ageless Couture turned back the clock yet again and laid claim to the Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight crown for an unprecedented third time, as he took a unanimous decision from Sylvia at Nationwide Arena. “The Natural” decked the monstrous Sylvia with an overhand right inside the first round and then proceeded to systematically dismantle him across five rounds. Couture secured seven takedowns -- two each in the second, third and fifth rounds -- and executed seven guard passes in the 25-minute affair, overwhelming Sylvia with ground-and-pound while outlanding the Pat Miletich disciple by a 138-39 margin in total strikes. There was little suspense when the final verdict was read: 50-45 on all scorecards. Captain America had struck again.
