6. International Absolute Fighting Council “Absolute Fighting Championship 1”
Nov. 25, 1995 | Moscow

Few can imagine a one-day, 32-man tournament in mixed martial arts, but that is exactly what the International Absolute Fighting Council put together in November 1995. It remains one of the wildest days of MMA action in history. The tournament was won by Ricardo Morais, who had to get past Mikhail Ilyukhin, Victor Yerohin, Maxim Tarasov, Onassis Parungao and Alex Andrade in succession.

Pride Fighting Championships great Igor Vovchanchyn was on the roster, too, as he cut through Sergei Akinin before knocking out Adilson Lima twice. The “Ice Cold” Ukrainian was eliminated by a chin to the eye socket from Ilyukhin. None of the 28 bouts on the card lasted longer than 9:44 and six of them took less than a minute.
