Sherdog’s Top 10: Greatest UFC Fights

6. Weili Zhang vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk 1 | UFC 248
Zhang-Jedrzejczyk is widely considered the greatest women's fight in UFC history, and cracks this list at No. 6. At the time, Zhang was the newly crowned women's strawweight champion after her shocking upset of Jessica Andrade in just 42 seconds. Jedrzejczyk, despite having lost her crown to Rose Namajunas, was considered the greatest champion the division had ever seen and fully deserving of a title shot. Few, however, could have anticipated the battle these two would engage in. They engaged in a five-round slugfest, trading one huge punch after another. I also remember how dramatic this fight was watching it live. After the third round, Jedrzejczyk was a big favorite in the live odds, as she had probably won the first two rounds and possessed the greatest cardio in WMMA, able to tirelessly fight for 25 minutes without missing a beat. And yet, it was Zhang, who had never even seen a fourth round before, who ended up prevailing over the championship stanzas, winning both on my card. The split decision is highly debated to this day, but I feel the right fighter won this terrific contest.
