6. Igor Zinoviev vs. Frank Shamrock
UFC 16
March 13, 1998 | Kenner, La.

Shamrock’s reign as UFC middleweight champion was an eventful one. Some expected unbeaten brawler Zinoviev to give him a real test, but it was not to be. The Russian, who had posted wins over Mario Sperry and Enson Inoue, never got the chance to get anything going because Shamrock ended their encounter with his first attack.

They briefly circled each other, with Shamrock moving and landing sporadic kicks. He eventually shot in, scooped “Houdini” up and slammed him down hard to the canvas. Zinoviev landed on the side of his and was knocked completely cold. The fight was over in just 22 seconds, as Shamrock put his superiority on display one more time for fans at the Pontchartrain Center. Zinoviev suffered a career-ending collarbone injury in the match and never fought again.
