NR | Evan Elder (7-0, 0-0 UFC) vs. NR | Preston Parsons (9-3, 0-1 UFC)

BETUS ODDS: N/A

If nothing else, Parsons should be an exciting fighter as he looks to rebound from an unsuccessful UFC debut. Parsons lives up to his “Pressure” nickname, attempting to get on his opponents early with swarms of punches and takedown attempts, with the latter usually leading to an impressive submission game that has earned him each of his wins. Thus far, he tends to flag badly after his initial bursts of offense, and his UFC debut did not even get that far, as he stepped in on late notice to take on a tough opponent in Daniel Rodriguez and quickly got knocked out. This time, it will be Parsons taking on the late-notice opponent, as Elder moves up from lightweight for his UFC debut. Elder looks like a good get for the UFC with such little time to maneuver. He is a patient striker with knockout power and some wrestling in his back pocket, and he seems like the type of athlete that will be able to hold his own going forward as he develops as a prospect. He is certainly dangerous enough to stun Parsons early and get the upset, but between the late notice and the move up in divisions, the best bet still seems to be that Parsons is able to get a takedown early and work from there. The pick is Parsons via first-round submission.
