NR | Jimmy Flick (15-5, 0-0 UFC) vs. NR | Cody Durden (11-2-1, 0-0-1 UFC)

ODDS: Flick (-150), Durden (+130)

An entertaining flyweight bout that was supposed to take place earlier this month instead lands here. Flick was a highlight of this year’s edition of Dana White’s Contender Series, thanks to his aggressive and dizzying submission game. “The Brick” sticks to his strengths, chaining together technique after technique until his opponent is left dizzied and exhausted. Flick has proven himself on the regional level enough to be more than a curiosity, but it will be interesting to see exactly how far he can take this approach inside the UFC. That all starts here against Durden, an underrated prospect who makes his flyweight debut after a late-notice UFC entry in August. Durden took Chris Gutierrez to a draw in that bout, showing all the positives and negatives of his game. He has a powerful and aggressive wrestling game and got off to a hot start, but he quickly tired himself out against an opponent unwilling to go away. This fight could follow a similar pattern. While Durden may start off well, his style plays right into Flick’s relentless approach, which should eventually wear out the Covington, Georgia, native and leave him open for a finish. The pick is Flick via third-round submission.
