Rampage to Fight on Probation
When Quinton “Rampage” Jackson finally faces Rashad Evans in a grudge match later this year, he will do so under probation. A California judge sentenced Jackson to three years probation on Jan. 8 for a July 2008 episode in traffic that saw him drive over center dividers and sidewalks and strike a car as he fled.
The episode came two weeks after Jackson's loss to Forrest Griffin at UFC 86, which friends claim sunk Jackson into depression. Multiple felony charges against Jackson were reduced to a misdemeanor reckless driving charge after Jackson performed 200 hours of community service, holding seminars with young people and Marines. In a chain of events that was covered by TMZ.com, Jackson fled police on a flat tire in a massive truck, which had his likeness emblazoned on the side.
Jackson appeared in an Orange County courthouse sporting a mohawk he donned for his role as B.A. Baracus in “The A-Team” movie that will be released in June. Jackson will head to England in March to begin training for the Evans fight, according to FightersOnly.com.
