7. K-1 Premium 2004 Dynamite


A freak-show fight was at the heart of K-1 Premium 2004 Dynamite, as three-time Ultimate Fighting Championship tournament winner Royce Gracie toed the line against the 6-foot-8, 550-pound Chad Rowan before a crowd of 52,918 at the Osaka Dome in Osaka, Japan, on New Year’s Eve. Gracie submitted the sumo wrestler with a wrist lock 2:13 into the first round in what was his first appearance outside of Pride Fighting Championships and the UFC. Other bouts at the event saw the iron-skulled Kazuyuki Fujita knock out Karam Ibrahim, Yoshihiro Nakao outduel Don Frye, Caol Uno submit Chandet Sorpantrey and Yoshihiro Akiyama tap former boxing champion Francois Botha.
