7. Tito Ortiz
“The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” has not been relevant in MMA for some time, but at the height of his power, there was no one better. Ortiz was a ferocious ground fighter in his prime, as he used to dive into guard without hesitation and do his Hulk Smash routine.
Ortiz often mauled opponents after slamming them to the canvas. A fortunate few, like Evan Tanner, did not have to worry about being pounded into dust because they were already out when they hit the mat. However, fighters like Jerry Bohlander, Ken Shamrock, Guy Mezger and Elvis Sinosic were forced to endure a cascade of elbows, forearm strikes, punches and hammerfists until the fight was over. Ortiz was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame on July 7, 2012.
