When Almeida and Gonzalez sling leather at the Twin River Casino, they will do so with the fate of the interim CES MMA featherweight championship hanging in the balance. Almeida, 28, snapped a three-fight losing streak at CES MMA 42 on March 31, when he submitted Josh LaBerge with a third-round rear-naked choke. The Brazilian has already registered wins in the World Series of Fighting and Bellator. Gonzalez will enter the cage on the strength of four straight wins -- a run that dates back to 2012. During his current tear, the 29-year-old has finished all four of his opponents with chokes.
