Tom Aspinall (8-2) vs. Alan Baudot (8-1)

ODDS: Aspinall (-440), Baudot (+350)

He still has much to prove, but Aspinall is one of the more promising heavyweight prospects to come along in recent memory. He comes from a grappling background but took a few years off to do some boxing and has been finishing opponents ever since. Since his 2019 comeback, the Brit’s longest fight has lasted 81 seconds. Aspinall has size, athleticism and knockout power, but there are still obviously some questions associate with him, namely about his durability and ability to last past the first round. Sergey Spivak figured to test Aspinall enough to provide some answers, but with the Moldovan out, Aspinall instead faces a French newcomer. Baudot is a light heavyweight by trade, which provides one interesting angle. Given that Aspinall is used to facing much slower opponents, Baudot’s speed alone might make him difficult to track down. However, Baudot is also wild and not particularly durable, so while he has a chance at a flash knockout, “The Black Samourai” will likely eat something hard from Aspinall in short order. The pick is Aspinall via first-round knockout.
